Loved and adored by teens from across the world, pop-rock/pop-punk outfit We The Kings made a more than welcomed visit back over to UK shores to kick off their 2013. We thought it’d be silly not to catch them in London, so that’s what we did. You can see some shots we took of them at the show, along with support acts Natives and Blitz Kids, below:
Five years ago, We The Kings were soaring from the success of their 2007 self-titled debut and its well-written, infectiously catchy songs were making them a credible name at the top of the American pop-punk scene. Two uninspiring, yet still popular, albums later, the band are filling rooms full of teenage girls, ready to lap up whatever frontman Travis Clark has to offer them. We The Kings stopped off in London on their European tour to play some summery songs on a cold winter’s night, so we decided to join in.
On top of supporting We The Kings on their UK run this month, Cheshire’s Blitz Kids are also set to support Lower Than Atlantis during their forthcoming headline UK tour this April. All remaining UK tour dates for the band are listed below:

We The Kings first graced the shores of the UK back in 2008, with Boys Like Girls and Cute Is What We Aim For. After an incredible reaction from fans of headlining bands, they returned again the same year, and the next year, and the next year, and the next year. Now, almost four years on, the band have made leaps and bounds, headlining shows in the UK and have also released three full-length records. It’s clear that the band have gone from strength to strength across the whole world.
After a busy year and an even busier year ahead of them, we caught up with singer, Travis Clark, to talk about changes with the band, their current tour with Simple Plan, upcoming music and more.
Since the last time Simple Plan played the UK back in 2008, their return has been hotly anticipated. A lot is riding on tonight’s show and fans eagerly await to be impressed. The turnout has a mix of ages, more so than that of the age range out to support the support band, We The Kings. The weather has reached the point in which no one in sight is wearing a jacket and not much can dampen the fan’s moods as the venue doors open promptly at 7:00PM. The queue outside winds right up a steep hill and well around the corner, but the fans move in as quick as they can.
Part of the pop-punk ethos is to just feel young, be all energetic and basically just have a good time. With a decade gone since the release of their debut album, ‘No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls’, Canada’s Simple Plan have undoubtedly maintained this image with great success, with the band still maintaining their original line-up since they formed in 1999. Though maybe not at their peak anymore, the sold out dates throughout this tour are evidence enough of their dedicated fanbase.
