New York indie favourites b>The Strokes are one of the bands that jumped the noughties indie bandwagon, and have been successfully (more or less) riding it ever since while most of their peers keep slowly perishing into oblivion. Although none of band’s later albums have repeated the success of their debut ‘Is This It’, they’ve somehow acquired (and kept) the ‘indie classic’ status as well as a fanbase which mostly consists of two kinds of people – ones who love everything Julian Casablancas does, and others who persistently keep declaring that The Strokes should go back to their early sound.

NEWS: The Strokes confirm ‘Future Present Past’ EP, out June 3rd 2016!

New York based indie rock troupe The Strokes have just confirmed details of a forthcoming EP release, the first offering of new material since the band’s 2013 full-length effort, ‘Comedown Machine’. The band’s new EP, titled ‘Future Present Past’, is set for release on June 3rd 2016 via Cult Records.

Note: As only two members of the site were able to review the festival weekend, we were sadly unable to cover every band performing throughout the festival.

One of the longest running popular music festivals in the UK, the Reading/Leeds Festival weekend is well reknowned and has been hugely popular since its inception. This year, we made an appearance at the Leeds site of the event, and what a (muddy) weekend it was. With the co-headline act appearing for Leeds having Pulp headline and close the festival, there’s nothing like a bit of nostalgia to end a fantastic weekend of music.

NEWS: Reading and Leeds festival make first line-up announcement!

The annual weekend Reading/Leeds Festival have made their first line-up announcement for this year. Headlining across the weekend for both sites will be My Chemical Romance, The Strokes and Muse, with many other bands also announced across various stages. The full line-up poster so far can be seen below:

Reading/Leeds Festival takes place across August 26th – August 28th. Tickets can be purchased from the official Reading site or Leeds site.

I’m not a fan of mathematics, but when The Strokes are involved I’m definitely intrested in angles. The band’s new album ‘Angles’ may have taken the band 5 years to create, but good things come to those who wait, and The Strokes have finally come back to conquer the music world all over again with a brilliant comeback record.
