British rockers Slaves To Gravity haved announced that they are to call it a day. After 5 years, 2 albums, winner of ‘Best British Newcomer’ Kerrang! Award and shows all around the world, the band have announced their upcoming show at the Relentless Freeze Festival at Battersea Power Station at the end of this month (October 28th) will be their last. The band had this to say:
“After 5 incredible years, we’re sad to announce that STG is calling it a day. We’ve had an amazing ride, but after an innumerable amount of setbacks the time has undoubtedly come to move onto pastures new. We still love each other very much and remain fiercely proud of the music we made. We’re just sorry there won’t be any more. Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years. You’ve made it a magical experience that we will never forget. Our gig at the Relentless Freeze Festival on October 28th will be our last, and will be played accordingly. We hope you can join us there. It’s all over now. Over and out. Big Love Tommy, Mark and Toshi. Slaves To Gravity, October 2011…”

Rating:

More than a year on since their last record ‘Shallow Life’, Italian metal export Lacuna Coil have always been a respectable band who’ve never quite made it to superstar success but neither have they ever been in a position where they were hard to come across and be familiar with in the metal community. October 1st 2010 marks the day of their first visit and performance in Stoke-on-Trent, so the Italian quintet are hoping for a warm welcome from the Stoke audience this evening.
