There’s not many festivals out there who are situated near the grounds of a wild animal park (or, simply a zoo), let alone also supply a full weekend worth of some of the most talented punk, rock and hardcore bands that are around today. With a small and intimate festival site to boot, Hevy is easily one of the best independent weekend music festivals the UK has to offer. With tonight being only Touché Amoré‘s second ever performance in the city of Manchester, the first of which being over a year ago at an almost small pub sized venue, the UK fanbase behind this band has swelled tenfold. Now, on their first proper headline tour on British shores, it’s time to see what this increase in crowd size can do for their live performance.

Criminally left trailing in the wake of their increasingly revered peers, Touché Amoré and La Dispute, Pianos Become The Teeth more than equalled the efforts of the aforementioned bands with 2010′s ‘Old Pride’, yet confusingly never made their stamp as firmly on the musical map as they deserved. With this year seeing a number of stellar releases from hardcore circles, the band have once again been dealt a tough deck, with a stand-out release vital to keep up the pace.
