It goes without saying that Australian metalcore monsters Parkway Drive are easily one of the staple acts into the genre, creating album after album of brute intensity and maintaining a formidable live show to boot. With their new album ‘Atlas’ coming out just two weeks ago and the band currently touring off the record in the UK, we spoke with frontman Winston McCall in Manchester about the new album, their views on the environment (as touched upon in their music video for ‘Dark Days’) and more:

Coming from literally the other side of the planet, metalcore powerhouse Parkway Drive are more than reknowned for their impact on the scene along with the magnitude of their live performances. Aussie metalcore monsters Parkway Drive are literally on the otherside of the world, touring the UK in promotion of their latest record, ‘Atlas’. Bringing along support from other sides of the ocean, it truly is a line-up consisting of some up-and-coming imports who are set to show the British crowds just what they’re made of.

There are certain things you come to expect from a Parkway Drive album; ear-splitting vocals from the ever fantastic Winston McCall, guitar lines thicker than car tyres, a breakdown thrown in here and there and the occasional hook. It’s all these elements brought together that make this band an absolute behemoth in their genre. Looking at Parkway Drive, you’d never expect them to make this type of music. They look like a bunch of Aussie surfers who couldn’t be more chilled out, and it’s all the better when they continue to produce records as fantastic as ‘Atlas’.
