For German language rock bands, it can often be difficult to escape the shadow of industrial metal giants, Rammstein. Sometimes this is justified, as Rammstein encouraged many bands to embrace their own language as opposed to using English in order to gain international appeal. Other times, bands have found themselves being described in terms of Rammstein, despite having only a fleeting resemblance other than ‘being German’. In the case of OST+Front, however, this relationship with Rammstein is loud and clear and, to the untrained and uninitiated into the world of Neue Deutche Harte (New German Hardness, German Industrial Metal), there may be some difficulty in telling the difference.
