As I return to the gloomy skies of Manchester for my ominous looking fourth year at university, what better way to kick the semester off than by going to see one of my favourite bands of all time, Motion City Soundtrack. Having not long released their fifth studio album, ‘Go’, the band are eager for the fans to hear their new tunes in a live environment. Not to mention that the gig was moved from the roomy Academy 2 to the much smaller venue of Academy 3, which is a bonus because MCS thrive in a cosy and intimate environment.
Indie rock trio Now, Now are set to support Motion City Soundtrack on their upcoming headline tour of the UK next month, prior to their own headline tour straight after. All of the band’s forthcoming UK shows are outlined below:

‘Threads’ is the second full-length from indie outfit, Now, Now. The Minneapolis trio are emblematic of the ‘less-is-more’ approach, and that comes across in this 12-track put out on Chris Walla‘s (of Death Cab For Cutie fame) label, Trans Records. Consistent in their approach, the band have crafted an album that rarely confronts the listener; rather, it ambles along like the musical equivalent of a stroll at the dawn of a hazy, early Autumn morning.
Now, Now have just released their new music video for their single, ‘Dead Oaks’, taken from their forthcoming ‘Threads’ release. Check it out:
