Following on from a live bootleg covering a song by The Beatles just over a week ago, British singer/songwriter Jamie Lenman (ex-Reuben) has now debuted another unreleased cover taken from the same show a few years ago at the now defunct Farnborough venue Tumbledown Dick. This time it’s a rendition of ‘Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge On Seattle’ by Nirvana.

With the legacy of Seattle grunge legends Nirvana, and particularly the generation defining genius of late frontman Kurt Cobain, still very much forefront in the psyche of rock fans the world over, it is inevitable that any new scrap of material or footage is to be dredged up and wheeled out for those still anxious to eavesdrop on the troubled prodigy. ‘Montage Of Heck’ promised something new although, a collection of home recordings spanning as far back as 1987, until Kurt‘s death in 1994, which pledged an unfettered look into a mind still fascinating audiences so many years on. The reality is a paper thin patchwork of tidbits which, whilst occasionally betraying a snapshot of real beauty, comes across as barely worthwhile, and a excessive attempt to keep the Cobain ball rolling, and more importantly the cash flowing.

NEWS: Courtney Love’s lawyers send cease-and-desist letters to cinemas showcasing ‘Soaked In Bleach’!


Following the release of ‘Soaked In Bleach’ last week, the controversial Benjamin Statler directed docu-drama that takes a look into the death of Kurt Cobain that was ruled a suicide in 1994, the legal team of the Nirvana frontman’s widow Courtney Love have reportedly issued cease-and-desist orders against theaters showing the film.

CLASSIC RECORD: Nirvana – Nevermind

Last week marked the 20th anniversary of the release of one of the most influential rock albums of all time: ‘Nevermind’ by Nirvana. Boasting huge anthems and classic tracks such as ‘Breed’, ‘Lithium’, ‘Come As You Are’, ‘Drain You’ and of course ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’, the album undeniably boosted the Seattle misfits into super stardom and changed the face of music ever since.

Without Nirvana, and especially the release of ‘Nevermind’, many of today’s most popular rocks acts may not be around today at all, and the shape of music as we know it could’ve been completely different.
