With 2012’s ‘Infamous’, Pennsylvania’s Motionless In White took a rather risky step away from their formulaic and often all too predictable metalcore stylings with debut ‘Creatures’, and instead added more of an industrial metal splicing into proceedings, most notably taking a major amount of influence from Marilyn Manson. As a result, and as expected, the record fell foul to many short comings and all too common potholes. Less than two years later, album three ‘Reincarnate’ sees MIW choosing to stick with the path they began with ‘Infamous’. This time around, the faults are filled out, the release is more consistent, and the quintet sound a lot more like they have their own identity instead a band trying to clutch onto the title of this generation’s Manson.
