Rating:

Max Raptor‘s track record at this stage in their career is exceptional; ‘Portraits’ and ‘Mother’s Ruin’ stand as two of the most overlooked albums in recent British punk rock history, and 2015’s recent ‘Damage Appreciation’ perfectly whetted the appetite for the Burton boys’ first full-length release on Hassle Records. Their self-titled record once again shows that the art of writing catchy hooks and bounce along songs comes so easily to them, so now it’s over to the public to sort themselves out and buy into the Max Raptor brand.

Rating:

When music is surrounded with pessimists saying that rock is dead or asking where the next generation of headliners are, it’s hugely encouraging to see a long, well supported, rotating headline tour of 3 genuinely great and exciting British bands getting the publicity that it is deserves. The ‘UK Throwdown’ tour triple threat of Press To Meco, Max Raptor, and Allusondrugs is the perfect example of what your local independent venue can offer you, and how the rock scene in 2016 is overflowing with hungry, talented bands.

Rating:

Burton punk rockers Max Raptor have been criminally underrated since their debut mini-album ‘Portraits’, which dropped in 2011, and a brilliant full-length followed two years later when ‘Mother’s Ruin’ showed that the band can write thought-provoking topical tracks that aren’t afraid to shy away from the issues at hand. Having just signed to Hassle Records, the band clearly couldn’t wait to throw some new music at us before album number two drops next year. So, here we have the EP, ‘Damage Appreciation’, a 4-track glimpse into what direction the guys are heading in on their new label home.
