Red Fang (****) make the perfect support. They are essentially Mastodon‘s little brother, not necessarily copying them, but they are very similar in style and sound. Although they’re a tad shy as they walked onstage, it didn’t take long from them to find their stride and once they did they were unstoppable. Apart from being a tad repetitive in places, their prog-metal vibes whip up a frenzy and the crowd instantly fall in love with them. These guys are touring later on in the year, and judging from tonight’s performance it looks like it’s going to be a hell of a show.
The Dillinger Escape Plan and Red Fang have both been confirmed to join Mastodon as supporting on their headline UK tour in February. All dates of the tour are as follows:

Known for their super epic riffs and solos, Mastodon have unleashed their rather strange video for ‘Curl Of The Burl’. You have to see the ending to understand this terrible play on words, but what would you do in this guy’s sticky situation?
Metal riff masters Mastodon are currently streaming the whole of their upcoming full-length album ‘The Hunter’ on their official website. You can head there right now by clicking here.
