Hyro Da Hero is back once again on UK soil. It seems we can’t keep him away. If he isn’t here supporting the likes of The Blackout or 3OH!3 then he’s back in America supporting huge acts such as Deftones or even 50 Cent. Due to personal reasons, he had to cancel this originally scheduled for Autumn tour. But, after a swift reschedule he is back and eager to promote his debut album, ‘Birth, School, Work, Death’.

Rating:

For anyone who is unfamiliar with the Koko club in London, it is a fine establishment and is definitely more of a night club than a venue. However, on this occasion, it plays host the mighty Four Year Strong who more than threatened to blow the roof off of the place.

Championing themselves into the mainstream following the free download release of their ‘Passive Aggressive’ towards the end of last year, Marmozets managed to put out one of the strongest EPs of the year from an unsigned band. Just over a month into 2012 and they’ve proved that lightning can strike in the same place twice with ‘Vexed’, a much darker and far more math driven piece.

At some point in the past few years, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Be Your Own Pet, The Fall Of Troy and Rolo Tomassi had some parts of their style and body extracted from them, shoved into a blender, mashed all into one entity and poured out into a Leeds-based beverage: Marmozets. Thus far in 2011 alone the band have been featured in Kerrang! magazine, had a support slot with VersaEmerge during their UK tour, a space at Hevy Festival and have now made their latest EP ‘Passive Aggressive’ available for free download from their website.

Following the UK release of the debut full-length ‘Fixed At Zero’ in March, VersaEmerge have steadily been building their presence over on UK shores. Since their first visit to the country back in 2009 for Give It A Name, it didn’t take too long for them to return again, and now on their first ever UK headline tour, it’s easy to see that their occassional visits have made an impact.
