Now in its third consecutive year, this also being it first where it has grown to take place at two separate locations (Bristol and Nottingham), Hit The Deck is certainly a festival that gone strength-to-strength since its inception a few short years ago. This year, with Don Broco headlining the main stage, we headed to the original Nottingham date to get involved in the action. Growing and expanding to be able to now accomodate two dates in two separate cities, Hit The Deck Festival has certainley come a long ways since its humble beginnings a few short years back in 2011. Taking place across new second home Bristol and original location Nottingham, we decided to take part yet again this year and headed to Nottingham to catch what will yet again be a great day for rock and alternative music.

Rising British rockers Mallory Knox have announced that they have now signed to Search & Destroy Records, a label imprint of Sony Music, who they will be releasing their next few albums and EPs through. The band posted the following message on their Facebook:

Punk rock trio Green Day have now been confirmed as the third headline act at this year’s Reading/Leeds Festival weekend, joining already announced headliners Eminem and Biffy Clyro. Along with this, a further wave of acts have also been confirmed, all of which are listed below:

By now, Don Broco should be a household name, like Pringles or Germany. With all of the airplay the band get on BBC Radio 1 and all of the relentless supporting and touring they’ve been doing over the last few years, there’s a bloody good chance you will have heard/seen them at one point, and quite right too. No one deserve success more than these lovely Bedford lads.
Hit The Deck Festival have now made their third line-up announcement, which has confirmed a new bunch of acts, including Pure Love and Mallory Knox, at the now two-site festival in Bristol (April 20th 2013) and/or Nottingham (April 21st 2013) later this year. All newly confirmed acts along with updated festival posters for each date can be found below:
British music continues to make the most unexpected impacts, but it’s those impacts that falter after the first release. It’s a hit or miss with anyone releasing music, get it right and it can go exceedingly well, but get it wrong and that could be the end altogether. Mallory Knox have created the ideal first release, with so much hype behind it, ‘Signals’ is that unexpected impact.
With the end of one year comes the start of another. It’s undeniable that 2012 was a great year for rock and alternative music as a whole, but with a quick overlook of what is to come and what bands are on the verge of rising from the underground, it seems 2013 might even surpass the previous 12 months. We have listed all of the bands we think you should keep your eyes on throughout this year so you can get in there before they become ‘uncool’ or just so you’re ahead of the pack.
