There’s nothing quite like a good acoustic album with honest, heartfelt lyrics to brighten up a miserable day and to put the escalating violence and trouble growing over the UK into perspective. With the rain hammering down, blurring the outside world in relentless, angry sheets and the trees nearly being pulled from their roots by the wind, it’s good to listen to Jim Ward‘s beautifully named album ‘Quiet In The Valley, On The Shores The End Begins’. Ward‘s voice urges you to chill-out and the brilliantly played guitar embeds itself in your mind as if it’s a calm-inducing drug. The best thing to do while listening to this album is to make a cuppa, sit back, close your eyes and re-evaluate what really matters – such is the effect that the whole release has, that while listening your troubles and worries won’t matter as Ward takes you on a spiritual trip.
