The four years between sophomore ‘They Said A Storm Was Coming’ and its follow-up have certainly been a turbulent and stressful one for Sacramento’s Jamie’s Elsewhere. Not only did the band part ways with Victory Records in 2011, they also had their frontman Aaron Pauley join contemporaries Of Mice & Men as a permanent fixture. The band themselves have even confessed that in 2012, there was definite talk of them disbanding altogether. Now, with the dust settled and a new vocalist in Justin Kyle, along with their fanbase helping to crowdfund and back their future, the band have taken it upon themselves to self-release ‘Rebel-Revive’.

Jamie’s Elsewhere could be said to be in a state of transition. Having parted ways with Victory Records after the release of their last album, ‘They Said A Storm Was Coming’, as well as losing drummer Scott Daby and rhythm guitarist Mike Wellnitz, one could reasonably expect it to be a while before the band were back on form. Periods of transition are never easy, just look at Chelsea Football Club. But, ‘Reimagined’ gives hope for the band’s future. Featuring four reworked songs from the aforementioned album and two newbies, it’s much more than a re-hash of old works just to keep the fans quiet.
