It Prevails seem to recruit and then lose members faster than the church of Scientology. Having yet another line-up change before the making of ‘Stroma’, they are now back with latest recruits, guitarist Nic Toten and drummer Aaron Marsh. ‘Stroma’ is the band’s third release, and they are currently in the middle of a mammoth US tour in support of it.

Hailing from Colorado, post-hardcore/metalcore 5-piece It Prevails have released a string of releases and have never managed to break out a great deal outside of US shores. Though new 3-track EP ‘Findings’ is far from a poor effort, it sadly doesn’t seem enough to change this much either.

Their sound drives much like the missing link between Ligeia‘s two full-length releases, mixing a forceful and formidable metalcore blast with an appropriate amount of melodicy in equal measures instead of pushing further on either element. It’s just not something that It Prevails have surpassed themselves in their previous releases.
