You may have heard some of the more established bands, but these previews may introduce you to similar bands that are in the same vain.

Expanding up to 5 stages for its second year, Takedown Festival once again engulfs Southampton University Student Union with a who’s who of British alternative rock music, along with a few staple performers from overseas. Over 40 of the country’s best established and up-and-coming bands are looking to make it even bigger and better than last year, climaxing with The Blackout headlining the main stage this year.

British post-hardcore veterans, Funeral For A Friend, have had a bit of a rough time in recent years. With trends constantly moving, they almost didn’t manage survive the scene. With the addition of ex-Rise To Remain drummer Pat Lundy, the band have a new energy about them, and it seems to be paying off.
Download Festival, Britain’s premier hard rock and metal festival, has announced a monolithic new wave of bands for the 3 day bash, including Architects, The Ghost Inside and Bury Tomorrow. The full list of the 49 freshly announced bands along with the updated poster can be seen below:

After a vigorous battle for votes in the run up to and during last night’s final Red Bull Bedroom Jam performance, Exeter’s I Divide were crowned the champions of the 2012 edition of the annual contest.
After an intense and exciting summer filled with festival appearances, Red Bull Bedroom Jam have finally narrowed down the eight festival touring bands to announce this year’s three finalists who will go on to the next and last stage of the contest.
