Four years after the disappointing ‘Monochrome’, Helmet‘s latest release ‘Seeing Eye Dog’ is a confident return to form and is possibly their boldest album since ‘Betty’, their breakthrough album in 1994. However, that’s not to say it’s as enjoyable as their earlier work. ‘Seeing Eye Dog’ does make ‘Monochrome’ a distant memory, but their first four albums sound more untouchable as time goes on. It’s hard to see Helmet reaching the heights of those releases again.
