NEWS: Ghostfest 2011 make first line-up announcement!

Leeds’ annual metal/hardcore festival Ghostfest have made their first line-up announcement for this year’s event. The two festival is taking place at Leeds University on June 25th – June 26th. The tour poster featuring all the currently confirmed bands can be seen below:

Their Flood Vs. Hurricane tour, alongside Australians House Vs. Hurricane, is their last stint across the UK before 2010 comes to a close.

NEWS: Heights announce news on their debut album!

Southern hardcore bunch Heights have recently announced their signing to MediaSkare Records, the label who’ll be releasing their heavily anticipated and currently untitled debut album, due to be released in Spring 2011. The band, who formed in mid-2009, have caused a great buzz fast with the free download release of their debut 3-track EP ‘The Land, The Ocean, The Distance’ which is still available via their MySpace page.

Set out on a co-headlining tour, switching headline slots date after date, Martyr Defiled and Postmortem Promises are two of metal’s most watched over upcoming metal acts expected to breakthrough into the alternative mainstream. Getting increasingly popular week after week is a good sign of this starting to take effect, and their co-headlining tour acts as both a celebration from the bands aswell as proof as to what they’ve got to offer.

At one of the UK’s more derelict and deprived cities, the bands have decided to bring a local and very much less local band to support them. Sadly due to times with interviews and other complications we were unable to catch enough of Stoke-grown Your Chariot Awaits‘ set to be able to give a justifying and genuine review.

After only forming as soon as 2009, Hertfordshire’s Heights have quickly received a lot of attention and praise in the hardcore and alternative scene in recent months. With their debut EP ‘The Land, The Ocean, The Distance’ being shoved up on their site for free download and still shifting strong downloads since it’s release in September 2009, they’re debut album due for early 2011 will surely see the band make or break it.
