With two EPs under their belt, Forever Came Calling venture into the pop-punk world with their debut album, ‘Contender’. Considering that there are only three members, the band have created a decent album here. With riffs similar to Rise Against, they have a good beefy sound that you can really sink your teeth into (I am really hungry while writing this). Multiple guitar layers held together with a strong and vibrant drum beat make this a treat to listen to. Even though it’s a little on the short side (10 tracks spread over 23 minutes), ‘Contender’ boasts a few catchy songs, such as ‘Harbours’ and ‘The Office’.
