Gaining quite a large amount of attention from the British public last year during their involvement in the festival 8 of the Red Bull Bedroom Jam contest, St. Albans post-hardcore outfit Floods were easily one of the more exciting live bands in the line-up. Their debut full-length has been highly anticipated since that run of festivals last summer, and though being one of the last bands involved to make a substantial release since then, their self-titled effort proves to be worth the wait.

Butserfest appears to be in the middle of nowhere: just off the motorway with very irregular public transport that ended a little before 9:00pm. On the basis of that and with advance tickets being only £20, you’d be forgiven for having low expectations about this festival. But, despite these factors Butserfest boasts one of the best festival line-ups of this summer. With a main stage full of up-and-coming newbies alongside steady favourites, coupled with a stage sponsored by Small Town Records hosting sets from a heavier bunch of bands, the line-up is intense.

Extended to a full three-day weekend and being one of the only festivals to be hosted at a wild animal park, Hevy is most definitely a unique beast that’s growing from strength-to-strength year after year since its creation. Now onto the second day of the weekend, all four stages of the festival were open for business, and our ears were open to the huge array of bands.

The third and final day of the Sonisphere weekend brings to the table another day filled with brilliant acts sprawling across a range of different genres. With what might be Slipknot‘s final UK performance together (at least with the current line-up), it’s an emotional and iconic day for all maggots in attendance.

Hosted at the grounds of Knebworth, we got involved with the Sonisphere festivities now that the event has been extended to a three-day weekend with all of its stages. Finishing off the weekend with a bang, the festival managed to bag a slot from comedian Bill Bailey, and also what could potentially be Slipknot‘s final UK performance. Though we weren’t allowed photo access to the Apollo and Saturn stages to take shots of the big guns, our snappy photographer did manage to catch all the other great action across the arena.

Not to be confused with Flood Of Red for the slightly similar names, St. Albans outfit Floods bring are far more ferocious and in-your-face melodic hardcore injection into the Red Bull Bedroom Jam 2011 winner circle, and judging from their recent music video, they know how to have a laugh too. We talked to the band about their RBBJ win, the aforementioned music video and a few other things too:

The final day of the Download Festival sadly brings along with it the storms and a downpour of rain that lasted pretty much the entire day. This however didnt stop the thousands of festival attendees making the most of the last day of the festival weekend, catching an array of great acts both big and small before having to return back to their every day lives once more the following day:
