NEWS: Enter Shikari announce details on new single, DVD and intimate London show!

St. Alban’s Enter Shikari have got a bulk of news, regarding the release of their new single, live DVD and an intimate show in London.

Enter Shikari‘s forthcoming single, ‘Quelle Surprise’, is set for a digital release on May 19th as part of an EP, which will also include two remixes of ‘Destabilise’ and a live recording of ‘Hectic’, taken from their Christmas show party in Hertfordshire last year. The single will also be released as a limited edition 2×7″ (one red vinyl, one white vinyl) July 11th.

Also released on July 11th is the band’s long awaited live DVD, ‘Live From Planet Earth’, released as a CD + 2xDVD package consisting of:
CD – ‘Live at Hatfield. Christmas 2010’
DVD 1 – ‘Live at Hatfield. Christmas 2010’ + ‘Live At Camden Underworld. August 2010’.
DVD 2 – ‘Fizzy Water & Spikey Blankets (A Weekend In Russia. May 2010)’ + ‘Live At Hammersmith. February 2010’ + ‘Live At Summersonic, Tokyo. August 2009’.

The standard edition of the release will be available from all good stores and online retailers, and the ‘Live at Hatfield’ audio will also be available as a digital download from all the usual download stores. A very limited edition box-set edition of the release will also be made available to pre-order only from the band’s own webstore. Alongside the standard version of the ‘Live From Planet Earth’ set, this version will also contain a third DVD, which compiles archive footage recorded by the band, crew, family & friends next to professionally shot footage from all over the world. Some of this footage dates back as far as 2005, and includes songs long lost into the mists of time. It will also include ‘Images From Planet Earth’, a 60-page photo scrapbook of shots taken around the world. Backstage, onstage, in the van, drunk, asleep. No corner of the ‘live on the road’ experience has been left untouched. Plus an Enter Shikari laminate that will, over time, occasionally allow special discounts / surprises when presented at the merch desk at shows.

Pre-orders for both the standard edition (from the likes of Play.com/Amazon/HMV.co.uk, etc.) and the limited edition box set (only from the official Enter Shikari webstore) start on Monday 16th May.

The band have also announced a one-off very intimate show at Camden Dingwalls on June 15th. Tickets are available from midday on May 14th, ONLY from www.entershikari.com. The show is strictly 16+, and tickets will be sold on a ‘2 per person only’ basis only. Special guests and other aspects of the show will be announced in due course. This will be the band’s first UK show since Christmas 2010.

SINGLE: Enter Shikari – Destabilise

Release Date: October 26th, 2010
Label: Ambush Reality
Website: www.entershikari.com
MySpace: www.myspace.com/entershikari

Rating:

St. Albans synth driving post-hardcore group Enter Shikari have come an awful long way since their “trancecore” and glowstick days of ‘Sorry, You’re Not A Winner’ and ‘Mothership’. Their 2009 sophomore record ‘Common Dreads’ really set them in stone as one of the biggest and most exciting acts in the rock scene, and a group who held a lot more of a political and meaningful stance than was seen before. This message delivered with a more diverse and stronger sound than their debut ‘Take To The Skies’, and raised the bar high.

SPOTIFY: Reading/Leeds Festival 2010 playlist!

Did everyone who went to Reading and Leeds festival this year have a good time? We’re sure being back at home may be more comfy and warm but not as fun as your weekend just was, but it’s not all bad. We’ve made a playlist for all of you to relive your experience, shoving all the best artists into one chain of 37 tracks of bands and acts who played across the festival weekend. Of course not every single band that played over the weekend is on the playlist, that’d be silly and some of them were a bit rubbish. We just shoved on those that we cover on the site and think you’d appreciate the most.

If you’re a Spotify user check it out and let us know what you think of it:
Reading/Leeds Festival 2010 playlist

Festival goers enjoy, and those who didn’t go just shove this on really loud and pretend you were there. Maybe bring some mud and grass in from outside, pitch a tent in your living room, wear some wellies and drink and dance lots!
