After a hugely successful run of dates at the end of last year, St. Albans post-hardcore outfit Enter Shikari have announced a massive 24 date tour of the UK, which will visit both major cities and smaller towns often forgotten by established touring bands. Following the publication of some rather controversial tweets regarding religion and homosexuality by For Today guitarist, Mike Reynolds, many people within the music industry have made their own comments upon it, including both journalists and bands. Enter Shikari frontman Rou Reynolds has posted his views on this story and issue on the band’s official website (here) which can be read in full below:

This year marked the debut of what will now be our annual Reader Awards, a time for you the reader to cast your opinions our way on how you have found various things across the board of the music industry for the past 12 months. It was also a chance for those of you in bands to get your fanbase to let us know just why we should all take notice of you.
We asked you what you feel have been the best releases, most noteworthy bands, notable record labels, the best venues the UK has to offer and even to help offer some foresight to some bright stars that 2013 will offer us.
Now, the results for this year have been compiled and are all listed below. Remember, if you’re not happy with the results, they are all down to what you readers have provided us. Feel free to discuss and let us know your thoughts in the comments below:

Well, 2012 has been one hell of a year. Thankfully, the world hasn’t ended and hopefully that’ll remain the same for these remaining few weeks, though 21/12/2012 is less than a week away now. Anyway, our survival has allowed us to be blessed with many great releases throughout these past 12 months, spawning from acts across the globe at many different stages of their career.
It’s been difficult to narrow them down, but together, DEAD PRESS! has managed to collate what we think have been the top 10 albums of the year. Have a look below and see what we think has made 2012 just that extra bit special and has surely set a benchmark for 2013 to up the ante:
