Cradle Of Filth just won’t go away. For twenty years they’ve been playing black metal wrong, annoying the trve and amusing the casual. Like I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! though, you can’t help but come back for more. ‘The Manticore And Other Horrors’ is COF‘s tenth full-length, believe it or not. Despite guitarist Paul Allender‘s claims, it doesn’t particularly push the boat out on the COF sound much, but it does provide another solid nail in the band’s coffin of achievements.

Suffolk’s Cradle Of Filth have always managed to make quite an impression towards the metal community, and may be one of the only British extreme metal bands that are known within the mainstream music scene as much as they are. This may be larely down to their controversial image, lyrics and merchandise (like the infamous Jesus Is A Cunt tee which brought so much hate, especially from the Catholic community). On the back of their latest full-length, ‘Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa’, the band have released a companion EP/DVD package, ‘Evermore Darkly’, containing some bonus material and a rather lovely titled documentary, ‘You Can’t Polish A Turd… But You Can Roll It In Glitter’.

Suffolk’s extreme metal kings Cradle Of Filth are set to release a new CD/DVD titled ‘Evermore Darkly…’, consisting of a mini-album of new material, demos and remixes, complete with a tour documentary DVD of their time on the road throughout 2011. Artwork can be seen below:

It seems that Cradle Of Filth have engrossed themselves in crafting elaborate theatrics and towering keyboard melodies that have at this point become a crucial staple of their sound. The problem is though, that the band has come to rely almost unequivocally on them, creating a make or break situation for listeners who are considering a listen to their latest outing, ‘Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa’.
