Fightstar frontman gone solo Charlie Simpson has gone and broken a particularly frosty world record. Organised by Jagermeister, the singer has performed a set for the locals of Siberian village Oymyakon in temperatures of -30C, making it the coldest gig on record.
The RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) charity are holding a gig in Brighton on May 25th which will be headlined by Charlie Simpson and supported by Charlotte O’Connor, The Breaks Collective and Blue Skies. The charity are offering an opportunity for one competition winner to open up on the evening too, with details on how to enter explained below:

It’s taken him a while to shake off the association with Busted, but Charlie Simpson has finally done it. Having to cancel the Manchester show last week due to illness, there’s a lot of anticipation in the room tonight. As soon as the doors open, hundreds of eager fans all rush to the front just to secure a place on the barrier. On a side note, if you’re coming to a gig just to see the main act and then shout abuse towards all the support acts, kindly fuck off and die.
From the wildly successful bubblegum pop of Busted to the more credible (and vastly darker) melancholic rock of Fightstar, it’s certainly fair to say that the career of Charlie Simpson so far has been diverse. So, it’s not surprising that ‘Young Pilgrim’ takes yet another musical bearing as Simpson shows us yet another facet to his talents with some folksy acoustic numbers.
After going down so well on their recent one-off support slot with Charlie Simpson a few weeks ago, Scottish trio The Xcerts have just been confirmed as very special guests for Charlie‘s forthcoming solo tour.
