Year in and year out, Slam Dunk manages to maintain its reputation as one of the strongest indoor music festivals that the UK has to offer, especially in terms of festivals that offer brilliant pop-punk acts, both established and up-and-coming. Returning again in 2012 with two dates under the helm for the weekend, we made our way to the original North date to take part in what would undoubtedly be one of the best events 2012 had to offer.

Note: As only a few members of the site were able to review the festival weekend, we were sadly unable to cover every band performing throughout the day.
Extended to a full three-day weekend and being one of the only festivals to be hosted at a wild animal park, Hevy is most definitely a unique beast that’s growing from strength-to-strength year after year since its creation. With the final day now at hand and a main stage headline set from Four Year Strong to look forward to, it’s definitely a great way to end what’s undeniably a great weekend.

One of the few good things to come out of Milton Keynes, Capdown have reunited, and are celebrating their recent reunion with a UK tour, mainly in small intimate venues. Tonight, they are stirring things up in Moho (the venue with the fucking huge staircase in the middle of the room).

Having initially started as a club night at the Cockpit venue in Leeds, Slam Dunk has done more than well enough to evolve and develop into a festival and record label. With 2010 being the first year it has managed to expand into a two day festival, (one day in Hertfordshire, the other in Leeds) it’s clearly only going one way. With Leeds being the festival’s original home since its birth in 2006, DEAD PRESS! felt it was only right to fill people in with what’s going on there. Sadly we were unable to catch and review all the bands at the festival, but here’s who we did catch…
