New Orleans, Louisiana based metalcore/nu-metal outfit Cane Hill seem to have been cooped up in the studio for the past few weeks, or at least that’s what their updates on their social media channels have certainly suggested to us. Back in 2005, Bullet For My Valentine released their debut album ‘The Poison’, a record that, put simply, catapulted them forward several ranks in the scenes of modern British metal, and has changed their lives ever since. By now, pretty much everyone in the world is aware of the outcome from last night’s US presidential election day, seeing perhaps one of the most visceral and venomous campaigns seen in the history of US politics. The nu-metal explosion of the late 90s/early 00s may have been the strongest burst of heavy music into the mainstream since… well, ever. Linkin Park‘s ‘Hybrid Theory’ was the best selling debut album of the 2000s, ‘Last Resort’ by Papa Roch still regularly infests rock clubs across the globe, Slipknot‘s sophomore ‘Iowa’ could well be the heaviest album to date to hit #1 on the UK Albums Chart, and the rise of Limp Bizkit with ‘Rollin” back in 2000 saw red baseball snapbacks ala Fred Durst fly out like hotcakes.

It would come as no surprise if the 2016 run of Download Festival would be known forever going forward as the year of Drownload. Easily the wettest Download Festival to have happened, with storms and torrential downpours happening throughout almost the whole weekend, it’d be impossible to be mud free, even if you were only catching one band. Thankfully, we had wellies and warm waterproof clothing well equipped. Download, let’s be ‘aving ya!
