With their new full-length album ‘Daybreaker’, Brighton’s Architects stepped away from the more personal messages within frontman Sam Carter and instead opted to tackle more socio-political issues that effect the masses. Though their return to their original sound brought back many doubters, their new lyrical content repelled others. At the Manchester date of their recent UK tour supporting the record, we spoke with bassist Ali Dean about the album, their set at Vans Warped Tour UK in London, progress on album number six and more:
Bringing a headline stint across the UK in promotion of their new album ‘Daybreaker’ before 2012 comes to a close, it’s clear that Brighton metallers Architects are still firm favourites in the British metal music scene today. We headed along to the Manchester show to catch them, along with support Deez Nuts, Bury Tomorrow and The Acacia Strain. Check the shots we got below:

The more socio-political driven messages behind Architects‘ latest full-length ‘Daybreaker’ has undoubtedly managed to turn a few heads both within and outside of their immediate fanbase. The less personal and more mass concerning lyrics and issues tackled have worked well in the Brighton outfit’s favour and a UK run supporting the release is going to see them in live effect.

Returning again in 2012 with two dates under the helm for the weekend, we made our way to the original North date to take part in what would undoubtedly be one of the best events 2012 had to offer.

Despite the huge success brought to Brighton’s Architects with their 2011 full-length ‘The Here And Now’, the album most certainly polarised opinions within their fanbase, critised by the elitists as being far too commercial and radio rock. If you look at the album properly though, it wasn’t really that mainstream. It held some rather heavy hitters, just listen to ‘Day In Day Out’, ‘The Blues’ and ‘Delete, Rewind’. Still, with new effort ‘Daybreaker’, the band stated they’d be returning to their roots, not feeling comfortable being a band who had tracks that comfortably slotted into daytime radio.
