NEWS: Dan Searle (Architects) discusses Tom Searle’s passing on SWIM podcast!

On August 20th 2016, the music world was shook by Tom Searle‘s (guitarist and principle songwriter for Architects) passing following a 3-year long battle with cancer, but none more so than his family, friends, and fellow band mates, particularly drummer and twin brother, Dan Searle.

NEWS: Tom Searle (Architects) passes away, aged 28!

After living with and battling cancer for over 3 years, it’s with incredible regret and sadness that we report Tom Searle, guitarist and one of the founding members of Brighton metalcore outfit Architects, has tragically passed away, aged 28. Though taking time off the road to recover and receive treatment, which seemed to be heading in the right direction in the past couple of months, things sadly deteriorated in the last couple of weeks.

FEATURE: How bands and musicians reacted to the UK leaving the EU!

Yesterday (June 24th 2016), after hours and hours of voting across the country, and then those votes being counted up, the UK made the decision to leave the EU. For those who aren’t quite sure what that is, that’s the European Union – a selection of countries across Europe that work together in a huge number of ways, including economically, travel, and trade, if we’re going to be super brief about it.

The UK has been a part of the EU for over four decades, and following the poll results is the first country (or, set of countries as it includes England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland) to decide to leave the union after being a part of it. Of course, such a decision has split the opinions of many up and down the country, and as it affects the music industry, many musicians have also expressed their feelings on this historic decision.

Unfortunately, due to a personal family related emergency, Brighton based heavy hitters Architects have regrettably announced that they have had to pull out of all of their scheduled European festival appearances in June and July. This sadly includes their set on the Zippo Encore stage at Download Festival this weekend.
