Cover albums always offer a band an opportunity to roam free and emulate the bands that bared an influence on them as musicians and artists. Although covering a particular song isn’t necessarily as serious task in comparison with creating music as an individual, as a musician, it’s still seen as a subtle requirement to do the track justice and respect. In simpler terms: avoid slaughtering the song.

After confirming last weekend’s festivities as their most successful year to date, Derby based metal festival Bloodstock Open Air have already confirmed their first act for 2013. Anthrax are the first band set to perform over next year’s metal weekend.
Now celebrating the 10th year since its inception, it’s obvious that to mark this important milestone in the event’s history, Download Festival was going to make it truly special weekend to remember. If we weren’t there, we would have thrown a tantrum. Here’s our review of what we thought of the Sunday of what would undoubtedly be a fantastic weekend of rock, metal, punk and alternative music:

With a headlining bill already boasting of The Prodigy, Metallica and Black Sabbath, Donington’s annual Download Festival have just confirmed a set for 14 more bands to perform over the festival weekend this year.

The forthcoming Hammerfest have announced the first five bands on their line-up for the 2012 weekend (March 16th-17th). Bands announced for the festival thus far are Anthrax, Paradise Lost, Chimaira, Lawnmower Deth and Fury UK.
