15 years ago, American Hi-Fi released a 13-track album which paved the way for their long career as pop-rock heroes, and saw them tour the world. To celebrate the self-titled debut, the Boston band hit Sunset Sound studios in Hollywood to re-record and re-imagine the classic as an acoustic collection of songs, compiling an ideal gift for the most die-hard of fans.

American Hi-Fi have been pretty much silent since their fourth full-length, ‘Fight The Frequency’, was released almost completely under the radar back in 2010, but Stacy Jones finally found some time off from his role as Miley Cyrus‘ musical director to focus on the band and create the alternative rock grown-up record, ‘Blood & Lemonade’. Former Letters To Cleo drummer Jones has found fondness in singing in a lower register with the band, progressing from their pop-rock/punk roots to a complete good-time/bad-time songwriting band with an arsenal full of musical winners.

It’s been very quiet from the American Hi-Fi camp over the last few years. Nevermind that the band haven’t played a show in the UK since sharing a stage with Bowling For Soup in 2005, it’s been over 3 years since they played a show anywhere. Most of the inactivity can be attributed to lead vocalist, guitarist songwriter Stacy Jones leading another life as musical director for global superstar Miley Cyrus, as well as playing drums in her touring band alongside bandmate, guitarist Jamie Arentzen. A gap in Cyrus‘ UK leg of the ‘Bangerz’ tour allows American Hi-Fi to squeeze in a very special one-off show at the prestigious The 100 Club.

American Hi-Fi will return with a brand new album ‘Blood & Lemonade’ on September 9th 2014 via Rude Records. The band’s fifth album will be their first since 2010’s ‘Fight The Frequency’, and will include brand new single ‘Allison’, out now. Check out the artwork and tracklisting below:
