In 2002, when Fearless Records launched their first ‘Punk Goes Pop’ compilation, it served as a harmless diversion from the traditional rock band oeuvre, and gave fans the guilty pleasure of seeing their favourite sad boy four-pieces cut loose and make pretend at being sugar sweet. Seven further entries later, and now it seems like those records were unpaid internships for a couple of alternative bands, who would find a taste for the genre and emerge, pulsating from a pop cocoon to find themselves beautiful, mainstream butterflies.

Starting their story with the humble beginnings of high school, aged around 15/16 years old, All Time Low managed to get the formula right pretty early on in their careers. It’s been since their 2005 EP ‘Put Up Or Shut Up’ that they’ve been rising stars in the world of pop-rock/pop-punk, and here we are in 2017 with album seven on the way, and it looks like they still have a firm stranglehold on the genre.

FEATURE: 50 albums that turn 10 in 2017!

A decade is, especially in the music world, quite a long time, even if it does seem to just flash by and feel like just a month. Ten years ago, back in 2007, things were very different; MySpace was still the kingpin of social media, Bring Me The Horizon were dodging bottles whilst supporting Killswitch Engage night after night, and Give It A Name and Taste Of Chaos were still a thing.

Along with all the nostalgic memories, 2007 was also host to a plethora of great records, some being the first major step for a lot of bands towards the lofty heights of their career that they’re revelling in today.

Of course there are hundreds, but we filtered together 50 great albums that turn 10-years-old this year to remember those modern classics.
