After a two year absence following the undoubted success they had back in 2011, Knebworth’s Sonisphere Festival has finally returned, once again hosting a stellar line-up across its three days, including metal giants Iron Maiden and Metallica, and dance/rock hybrid pioneers The Prodigy. Newport Centre doesn’t host that many gigs, so for one of rock’s biggest bands to visit is somewhat of a rare happening. The queue winds around the outside of a swimming pool giving off the impression that this gig is not going to be your usual affair.

With 2010’s comeback record ‘Black Gives Way To Blue’ received with such universal acclaim, it’s an inevitability that any follow-up would be somewhat overshadowed. Given this however, to say that ‘The Devil Puts Dinosaurs Here’ suffers in comparison would be doing a rather grave disservice to a record which is an although dissimilar, yet equally meritable beast, and cements their position as one of the few post-classic era reformations which have cleared the hurdle of being a mere cash in.
