Six person industrial band from Nottingham, Akarusa Yami‘s EP, ‘Trace Element Rebirth’, shines with solid guitar solos and a slight bend of the constraints of the genre. Opening track, ‘Life, The Venomous Way’ is filled with passion and has some sick solos. There’s even a slight electronic vibe to the song. It must be said that at first, it seems that it’s not ground breaking music, part of you feels like you’ve heard it before. The next song, ‘Gottfried Raised My Hand’ follows suit with a similar heard-it-before feeling. That’s not to say it’s not a good song, it is. It just lacks a certain something, it seems to stay a bit safe.
