Though we’ve waited a little bit longer than usual to get that first Download Festival announcement, it’s finally here. The festival organisers have now confirmed that System Of A Down, Biffy Clyro, and Aerosmith will headline the main stage at the 2017 edition of the rock and metal weekender.

NEWS: AFI detail self-titled record (or ‘The Blood Album’), out January 20th 2017!


After some cryptic teasing online here and there, Californian alternative rockers AFI have now confirmed that a new self-titled LP, which will also be referred to as ‘The Blood Album’, and a follow-up to their 2013 release ‘Burials’, is on its way. The record is scheduled for release on January 20th 2017 through Concord Music Group.

NEWS: AFI reportedly working on their tenth album!


Californian punk rock favourites AFI (or, A Fire Inside) are reportedly working on some new music, which is assumed to form what will be the band’s next and overall tenth full-length album. The suspicion comes from a image posted via the band’s official Instagram account, which sees both frontman Davey Havok and guitarist Jade Puget – who are both also the band’s principle song writers, penning down some new material.

FEATURE: 50 albums that turn 10 in 2016!

At the moment, it’s looking like 2016 is going to be a great year in terms of new albums, with a handful of huge bangers already out there and many more undoubted hits confirmed to be hitting out ears in the next few months. It’s also important to look back every so often, and it just turns out that a decade ago in 2006 was a great year for albums too.

Of course there are hundreds, but we filtered together 50 great albums that turn 10-years-old this year to remember those modern classics, accompanied with streams to bring ourselves a massive hit of euphoric nostalgia.

AFI may be miles away from the fast hardcore punk band they were 15 years ago, but they’ve always kept their fanbase interested with consistently exciting, although different, albums. Now, with a much more atmospheric darkened alternative rock sound, AFI return with larger than life album number nine, ‘Burials’, continuing their genre journey from where they left off during ‘Crash Love’ four years ago. The band may have turned down the eccentric style a touch since ‘Decemberunderground’, but the music still seems relevant and intriguing.
