Back in 2010, we thought we’d heard everything from Abandon All Ships; the five piece, hailing from Toronto, delivered a stunning, albeit a very alternative effort with ‘Geeving’. Their mix of trance, dance and metal music boarded them onto the ship that bands such as Asking Alexandria and, more famously, The Devil Wears Prada were proudly sailing.

On their latest visit to the UK, Miss May I seem to be drawing in the crowds. Whilst Sound Control is quite a small sized venue, the amount of people queuing up outside is impressive, so much so that the roadies have to battle through the mass of eager fans to actually get back to the tour bus.

Dance metal-like group Abandon All Ships! have posted their brand new music for the track ‘Geeving’, taken off their album of the same name released earlier this year. There’s some fighting and stuff, so if you’re into that sort of thing this could be a plus:
Excuse the terrible reference to the band in question, but bro my god, is this trend the new with heavy alternative music today? Depending on where you look or who you ask it goes by a list of names; electronicore, brocore, synthcore, crabcore, whatevercore, and it all pretty much rooted from the success of the American Attack Attack! and their debut in 2008. Abandon All Ships! are the next to jump onto the ship of what they more or less began two years ago, and ‘Geeving’ pretty much follows the same formula almost exactly.
US post-hardcore hopefuls Abandon All Ships! released their debut studio album ‘Geeving’ today in the UK and Europe, and in the US and Canada yesterday. They’ve also got a music video for their track ‘Megawacko 2.1′, check it out:
