NEWS: A Lot Like Birds respond to ex-vocalist Kurt Travis’ recent statement for leaving!


With turmoil and the departure of now former vocalist Kurt Travis being a popular topic right now for experimental post-hardcore troupe A Lot Like Birds, which saw Travis posting a lengthy statement earlier this week outlining the reasons for his decision to part with the band (which can be read here), guitarist Michael Franzino and vocalist Cory Lockwood have posted their own extensive responses to the post that Travis made.

NEWS: Kurt Travis shares reason for leaving A Lot Like Birds!


Just over a week ago, it was confirmed that Kurt Travis had decided to step down from his position as co-vocalist for Californian post-hardcore outfit A Lot Like Birds, and had parted ways with the band. Though a short statement was made from the band, little was revealed as to why. However, Travis has now made a post via Alternative Press, outlining the reasons for his decision.

Although the predicted comparisons with post-hardcore kin Dance Gavin Dance hang somewhat flimsily over each A Lot Like Birds release (clean vocalist Kurt Travis performed a stint with DGD from 2007 til 2010), ‘No Place’, the band’s third full-length, confirms them to be a decidedly more involved affair. Expanding on the blueprint of sophomore ‘Conversation Piece’, the Sacramento sextet deliver a borderline overbearing whirlwind of kinetic aggression and fluctuating progressivisms which are as intriguing as they are congested.
