B.o.B. pretty much sneak attacked our British airwaves out of nowhere in Spring 2010, with debut single ‘Nothin’ On You’. The young upcoming rapstar shot himselves into the charts, and a lot of other new chart debutants also had nothin’ on him.
It seems with ‘Airplanes’ he’s not just aiming for a one hit wonder, and instead soaring for stardom as much as possible. Ironically this catchy as hell single is just about making it into the starlight as much as possible, and with aid from Paramore‘s vixen Hayley Williams on forefront for the chorus hook, he’s definitely planned it out with precision.
Hayley‘s line “Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars? / I could really use a wish right now” has been appearing all over Facebook status’ since it got into the public domain, which could well lead this single into realms of annoyance for many very soon.
In the meantime, let’s enjoy this gem of a single before it gets there.
