Returning to the scene after six-years without mention, Akissforjersey now have new material to offer in the shape of ‘New Bodies’. Even with a break-up back in 2008, this North Carolina post-hardcore unit show that they haven’t forgotten where their roots lie. Though, it may not be as forthright as their previous efforts.
Heavy metal has been around for, what, 40 years now? It must be one of the most resilient genres to exist, especially when bands like Skull Fist are still playing the exact same style that they did back in the 80s.

About half a minute into ‘Ways Of The Wicked’ and you know that Birmingham’s newest beatdown band are set for bigger things. Having shared the stage with Desolated, No Second Chance and the youngsters in Revelations, it seems Sentenced are quickly making a name for themselves, thanks to their absolutely lethal shows and competent mix of death metal and hardcore.
With all the different subgenres within rock music these days, it’s refreshing to hear a band who are comfortable with just being a straight up rock band, and London’s Fighting Wolves are clearly that. Their debut album, ‘Chapter 1′, is chock full of big riffs and catchy choruses and has obviously been made to be played loud.
Lady Gaga, the infamous New Yorker, is now back with her third full-length studio album, ‘Artpop’. One thing about the singer is that whether you love her or you hate her, she certainly makes a statement and she makes people talk. This newest offer is filled to the brim with pop and is catchy, but lacks a certain artistry.
The debut full-length release for British alternative rock band The 1975 from Manchester is an album much anticipated for. The question is, was it worth it? Skepticism shows through when you realise the first song is also titled ‘The 1975′, much like the title of the album and, of course, the same name as the band themselves.
