It’s great when a band genuinely surprises you with their material, and that’s absolutely the case with Norwich’s Fist Full Of Lies. If you’re expecting predictable and tiresome songs then think again, as ‘If It Wasn’t For This I’d Still Have Everything’ is an absolutely sensational EP.

EP: Wolves – Cycles

Rating:

Aside from the odd drunken girl that I may or may not have made a remark at, I have never heard anything from anyone that’s prepared to completely blow my face off and tear me apart, limb from limb, with such determination and relent as the Welsh quartet, Wolves. The band’s latest EP, ‘Cycles’ is a four track combination of bitterness and spite and is so unforgiving in its performance.

Rating:

Entering year number 15 of their fruitful career, The Riverboat Gamblers offer us their latest album, ‘The Wolf You Feed’. In true punk rock style, they have a discography as long as Sarah Jessica Parker’s face, with the majority of their releases being split with another punk band. Having toured with some of the greats over the years (Rise Against and Rancid to name a few), they’ve had enough experience and practice to perfect their sound.

Industrial metal isn’t an easy genre for a musician to crack, but when it’s done right it sounds amazing in all sort of ways. With a notable career behind them and a catalogue of multiple albums to be proud of, we caught up with Combichrist during the UK leg of their Evolution tour – a retrospective touring campaign where the band peformed tracks from throughout their career so far. We spoke about the tour itself, writing songs for video games and film sound tracks, progress on their forthcoming new record and more:

Acting as one of the pioneers of a very niche genre still to this day known as ‘laptop rap’, MC Lars has alway mainted some notable success but never really broken into the mainstream.
