Rating:

Like many others out there, I have been waiting oh so long to get my hands on more Don Broco tracks. I’ve seen them live a few times recently and they have been playing a few sneak peeks from their debut album (mainly ‘Priorities’ and ‘Fancy Dress’). As much as they love playing their songs from last year’s ‘Big Fat Smile’ EP, you can tell that these guys are just itching to play their new stuff, and who can blame them?

Rating:

Sheffield is a breeding ground for a diverse yet interlinked community of bands, styles and scenes. This split between Best Friends and Grazes proves that bands on the opposite end of the spectrum in terms of sound can come together to release this EP. This split contains the work of house mates who share everything from their gear to their food. This split almost acts as the documentation to that house and the people who live there.

Rating:

WHY? are a band that fit into no categories but their own. With their hip-hop/rock and a little bit of indie sounds all blended into one, it’s difficult to describe someone to compare them to. But, nonetheless, their dynamic and unique sound is one that is highly favourable, and their new EP ‘Sod In The Seed’ is a collection of six songs that prove just that.

Rating:

The first thing you notice about The Better Letters with their new EP ‘Play It Straight’ is that there are only three songs, which is arguably quite a small number for an EP and could be classed as a borderline demo. But, nonetheless, it’s all about quality and not quantity, right?

Release Date: August 13th, 2012
Label: Unsigned
Website: www.carcercity.co.uk
Facebook: www.facebook.com/carcercity
Twitter: www.twitter.com/carcercity

Rating:

Carcer City are a progressive metalcore band hailing from Wirral and Liverpool, birthing the self-proclaimed genre ‘scouse metal’. This is possibly a reflection of their earlier sound; well-centred around the brutality and technicality of old Architects and Johnny Truant. With their new, free-to-download album ‘The Road Journals’, Carcer City have shifted from that into a more experimental, less consistent sound, but with some good to show for it.
