Scottish rock trio The Xcerts have hit new heights since releasing their critically acclaimed last record ‘Hold On To Your Heart’ and now the band have announced that they will be releasing an acoustic EP entitled ‘Late One Night’ later this year.
Set to be released on October 5th via Raygun Records, the EP will feature rearranged acoustic renditions of five tracks from ‘Hold On To Your Heart’.
Speaking about how the idea came about, frontman Murray MacLeod said the following.
“The idea to record quieter versions of songs from ‘Hold On To Your Heart’ came on our in-store run promoting the record. We really got a kick out of playing these stripped back versions and thought we should get them on tape. We recorded the entire EP in one night which lent a nice organic feel to it and hopefully makes for a nice contrast to the album. We have a tendency to over analyse so it was cool just to hangout and keep the session as loose as possible. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it.”
A one-off live performance in support of the release will take place at St. Pancras Church on the 3rd of October. The Xcerts are also appearing at Reading & Leeds Festival as well as joining Marmozets in supporting You Me At Six later in the year.
The full track listing for ‘Late One Night’ is as follows:
02.) Feels Like Falling In Love
04.) Hold On To Your Heart
05.) The Dark
