Having been through a more than challenging time since the tragic road accident that the band and crew were involved in back in November 2015, things are slowly beginning to look on the up for The Ghost Inside. Having recently confirmed they’ll be performing at Vans Warped Tour 2017, their first confirmed show since the incident, they have now also accepted ex-Texas In July member Chris Davis as the new guitarist to their line-up, and will replace Aaron Brooks who left in January 2015.
The band confirmed Davis joining the band officially via their Instagram account. You can check out the post made by the band below:
Us playing shows again is the furthest thing from our minds at the moment while we focus on our recovery, but none of us could ever imagine playing again without @chris_tgi. He's been such an awesome guy to have on the road, he's been so rad to have around off stage, and he loves Batman (almost a scary amount). He's the guy on the far right, so everyone chuck him a follow and welcome him officially to the TGI camp. We hope to see you guys soon, and thank you for all the overwhelming support! <3
Members of the band are still recovering from the road accident that took place on Highway 180 just outside of El Paso, Texas on November 19th 2015. The drivers of the two vehicles involved in the collision, Greg Hoke and Steven Cunningham, tragically lost their lives in the crash.
Drummer Andrew Tkaczyk has lost his right leg, guitarist Zach Johnson has lost multiple toes, and vocalist Jonathan Vigil was recently diagnosed with a bone infection. Bassist Jim Riley and other crew members involved are also continuing to recover.
For those who wish to help the band at this difficult time, a GoFundMe page (here) has been set up to help fund and contribute. Another GoFundMe campaign has also been set up to benefit the family of the band’s deceased bus driver, Greg Hoke (here).
