Despite originally stating that the final show of their latest headline tour in Santa Cruz (April 9th 2016) would also be their final as a band, Californian outfit Slaves have confirmed that they haven’t broken up and that they “just needed a break”, with vocalist Jonny Craig and bassist Colin Viera remaining as the only members.
As such, the band will still be going ahead with their scheduled appearance at Download Festival in Donington and other UK dates next month.
The band made the following statement, confirming this and their current position:
“No, we didn’t break up. Things are a little different, and it’s just Jonny Craig and Colin Vieira now, but we are about to go on tour in Europe and are in the process of writing. Expect an interview from us to further clear things up in the very near future! Thanks for riding with us through this crazy journey called life!”
The now two-piece have conducted said interview to expand on the future, including plans for their line-up and slight change in sound, and that their intention is “doing things properly this time, finding new management, working on the business side of the band first before we work on anything else.”
