It seems that British singer/songwriter and ex-Reuben frontman Jamie Lenman is keeping himself super busy this year, having released a handful of singles over the past few months, putting together a new album for October, and has now announced an all-dayer festival to be held in London later this year, aptly named Lenmania.
The festival will host a bunch of bands across two stages, one at The Tufnell Park Dome and the other at The Boston Music Rooms, including two sets performed by Jamie Lenman himself – both an acoustic one to start proceedings and a full band performance to close things off.
Speaking further on the idea of Lenmania and how it all came together, Lenman explained, “I’ve been wanting to curate a festival or a stage at a festival for a long time now, because as well as the fantastic bands on the UK scene that everyone knows about, there are also a lot of smaller bands that don’t get so much focus and I wanted a chance to shine a light on them too. When I was a kid lots of venues used to put on all-dayers. It was a concentrated blast of music, and if you knew one or two people on the bill you’d come away with five or six new faves. I’m hoping that’s what it’s going to be like for the people that come along – plus, I turn 35 that weekend, so it’s basically my birthday party. I booked every band on that bill and I love them all, so I’m looking forward to watching every act.”
