Having just wrapped up their sets across the three Slam Dunk Festival dates and sites across the Bank Holiday weekend, Michigan based metalcore/post-hardcore outfit I Prevail have regrettably announced that they have parted ways with their drummer and one of the band’s founding members, Lee Runestad.
Speculation flared up across the band’s fanbase surrounding Runestad‘s whereabouts and position within the band when he was absent from any of the band’s shows for over a month, including their aforementioned performances at Slam Dunk Festival over the weekend.
Runestad shortly after took to Twitter, to confirm that he was no longer a member of the band.
Hey guys. It was a difficult decision, but I Prevail and I have decided to amicably part ways.

Not long after Runestad‘s tweet announcing the news, the band released a short statement of their own via their official Facebook page, which can be read below:
“ATTENTION I PREVAIL FAMILY: We have mutually parted ways with our drummer Lee Runestad. We wish him and his family all the best. Life is an unpredictable journey that takes us all down different paths, but the important thing is to value every step along the way.
That said, we are stoked to have our talented brothers Gabe Helguera (drums) and Eli Clark (bass) joining us as touring members going forward.
Things have never been more exciting in the world of I Prevail and we have TONS of awesome stuff coming your way soon. Stay tuned.
See you at Warped Tour this summer.
-Brian, Eric, Steve and Dylan”
The band’s debut full-length album, ‘Lifelines’, is available now through Fearless Records.
