It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything new from Cardiff’s Holding Absence, whose last output was through their split EP with Loathe back in February, but now they have a new single to share.

The emotive alternative rockers have just dropped ‘Like A Shadow’, following its initial premiere on BBC Radio 1, with an accompanying video.

Frontman Lucas Woodland commented further on the song.

“‘Like A Shadow’ is a very important song for this band. We wrote the song directly after a big line-up change, and it breathed new life and fresh perspective into us. The song carries over the intensity and urgency that we love in our live show, and the catchiness that we try to maintain in our choruses for all the listeners at home. It’s a song very close to our hearts, and we can’t wait to hear what people think of it.”

You can stream and watch the video for ‘Like A Shadow’ below.

At the time of writing, it’s uncertain whether or not ‘Like A Shadow’ will remain as a stand alone single, or if it’ll feature on a forthcoming EP or album.
