To pay tribute to the late and well reknowned musician Prince, who tragically passed on April 21st 2016, Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor performed his classic hits ‘Purple Rain’ and ‘Little Red Corvette’ during his solo acoustic set at First Avenue in Minneapolis, MN that day.
Before performing the latter of the two songs, Taylor spoke about Prince‘s influence and presence as a musician, saying, “In a world where so many people treat music like a commodity, it was always refreshing to know that there was always Prince. There was always Prince. He may be gone, but, goddamn it, we have a lifetime of music that we can all thank him for.”
You can check out Taylor performing both tracks below:
Taylor will also be performing a one-off solo set in the UK, which will be held at Koko, London on May 8th 2016.
