Stepping away momentarily from his fellow bandmates in Georgia based metal outfit Mastodon, drummer/co-vocalist Brann Dailor has just released his first ever solo track, titled ‘Red Death’.
The song is inspired by and released in celebration of the new DC Comics graphic novel, ‘Dark Days: The Road To Metal’ , and sees Dailor paint a musical portrait of one of the nightmare Batmen – a twisted, malevolent amalgamation of superheroes Batman and The Flash.
Dailor spoke of the track, which features Tyler Bates (Marilyn Manson) on guitar, Mike Elizondo on bass, and Gil Sharone (Marilyn Manson, The Dillinger Escape Plan) behind the drum kit, along with the partnership with DC Comics.
“Super stoked to be part of this amazing musical collaboration, always been a fan of anything Batman related and DC Comics as a whole, so the chance to be connected to that universe is a dream come true.”
You can stream and listen to ‘Red Death’ below.
The song will feature on the ‘DC’s Dark Nights: Metal Soundtrack’, with a release date yet to be confirmed.
