WHAT THE BAND SAY:
DP!: How would you describe yourselves to someone who has never heard Lightscape before?
Lightscape: ‘Your new favourite band’ haha! We are an energetic alternative rock band from Norwich. Our sound is by no means small. Really catchy melodies, big riffs and chorus, with a live show to rival the recordings.
DP!: How did the band form?
Lightscape: The band formed about a year and a half ago, me (Sam) and Jimmy are brothers. We found Will on an advert of all places and started jamming. Will then found Ben through a recommendation (turns out I knew him from years back too) and Ben and Christy went to school together.
DP!:What plans do you have for the future?
Lightscape: 18th of August we will be headlining the Camden Assembly, this will be our first debut headline show in London. We also be touring at the end of the year with a new EP release, can’t announce too much yet, but it will be exciting!
DP!:Which new bands are you listening to right now?
Lightscape: Dream State are killing it atm, just been announced for Reading and Leeds, which is mental. For me also, (Sam) there’s an American pop band called Hey Violet, it’s almost a guilty pleasure, but their songs are well produced and have decent melodies.
DP!:Which bands do you aspire to and why?
Lightscape: Bring Me The Horizon, Thirty Seconds To Mars. Both bands have a huge sound and are playing arenas across the world, to get to a similar level is a definite career goal.
DP!:What’s the stand out moment in your career so far?
Lightscape: We played a hometown Norwich show at the ‘Open’. It’s a 1500 cap room, stage was huge, the sound was great, lights were great, crowd were ace, it was the first real taste of playing a room that size, hungry for more!
