It’s not often that I See Stars come over to the UK, even despite now having four full-length albums under their belt following the recent release of ‘New Demons’. However, from the huge reaction to that and previous album ‘Digital Renegade’, insane live shows and hopefully a push from this visit supporting The Word Alive, they’ll soon be here far more frequently.

Whilst over in the UK on the final tour date in Manchester, we had a word with drummer Andrew Oliver about the band’s new album ‘New Demons’, the meaning behind the album’s title, how he found the shoot for their ‘Murder Mitten’ music video, how he feels about the album leaking a few weeks ahead of its release, plans for 2014 and more:

The marry of both music and comedy is not something done too regularly, and when it is it’s even more rare to find a comedian and/or musician who can actually bring the two together with great results. Along with big names Bill Bailey and Tim Minchin, another great artists who can pull off this fusion is none other than Stephen Lynch.

Finally back in the UK in support of his latest album of material, ‘Lion’, we caught up with the man himself after the gig in Manchester to talk about whether he considers himself to be more of a musician or a comedian, how he felt the show went, the YouTube generation, his plans for the end of the year and more:

Heading out on a full UK tour and closing it off at Manchester’s Retro Bar, where earlier in the day the band had a pizza meet ‘n’ greet with a bunch of their fans, Scottish pop-punk outfit Altered Sky could well be facing just the beginning of what could perhaps be a promising future.

Back on the road supporting Lawson once again, Room 94 are very much like UK staple pop-rock boybands McFly and Busted (or, more recently, McBusted). With support slots like this, it’s possible that with a few more hits like ‘Superstar’ they’ll soon be living just like them.

In an age where record labels are becoming less and less important for bands to get their music out there to a wide audience, at least in the beginning, sites and schemes like PledgeMusic and Kickstarter are becoming more and more popular. Belfast trio, Mojo Fury, have opted for this route to fund their upcoming album, ‘The Difference Between’, allowing the fans to be more involved and, as a result, help create their new record.
